An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest does not establish guilt. A prosecutor may change or decline charges, and a court may dismiss a matter or enter an acquittal. A booking record alone does not reveal the final outcome. Connecticut records may later be corrected or erased under CGS §54-142a, and public dissemination of nonconviction history is limited by CGS §54-142k. An old copy may therefore misstate current status. Verify the disposition with the Superior Court clerk, the police agency that made the arrest, or Connecticut SPBI.
A record is a starting point, not a verdict. Only its official custodian can confirm the current content and whether Connecticut law permits release.

Confirm a court date or case outcome with the Connecticut Judicial Branch, criminal history with Connecticut SPBI, custody through CT DOC, a public registration through the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, and a police report with the agency that created it. Connecticut has no county sheriff records system. Official and certified copies come only from the lawful custodian.
