1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no tie to a government office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records, perform official checks, or file documents.

The content identifies the Connecticut custodians that hold source records, including Connecticut SPBI, the Judicial Branch, CT DOC, the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, and the police agencies serving local communities. Connecticut has no active county sheriff or county clerk system. Some pages also connect users with third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

• Use the site in violation of federal, Connecticut, or local law
• Threaten, stalk, or harass anyone with information found here
• Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated decision
• Access systems or information without authorization
• Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
• Disrupt the service or interfere with another person's use

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Do not use this site's information or a linked tool to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is prohibited and may be criminal. Connecticut's registry law, including CGS §54-258a, permits prosecution when registry information is used to injure, harass, or commit a crime against a registrant or that person's household. The Connecticut Sex Offender Registry supports public safety, not vigilantism or discriminatory action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Connecticut Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce credit reports, background checks, or consumer reports. Its advertising partners do not provide tools through this site for applicant, rental, insurance, or credit decisions. You must not use this site or a linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally regulated background check must come through an authorized official workflow or an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider, not through this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Connecticut charges, convictions, warrants, or erasure rules cannot determine how the law applies to a particular matter. Consult a Connecticut-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We do not warrant that:

• Partner results will be complete, current, or correctly matched
• Every page will remain accurate and up to date
• The service will always be available without interruption
• The pages will be free from errors, defects, or security risks

Connecticut records change when charges, dispositions, corrections, and statutory erasures are entered. Gaps or outdated details can occur. Only Connecticut SPBI, a Judicial Branch clerk, CT DOC, the registry, or another originating public agency can speak officially for its own record.

8. Intellectual Property

Connecticut Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. No one may copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative work from that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on content or results supplied by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms, and any dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in Connecticut. For clarity, the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS §§1-200 through 1-242, governs covered public agencies rather than this private site. Connecticut criminal-history dissemination and erasure rules include CGS §§54-142a and 54-142k.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining terms continue in force. The affected term will be narrowed only as much as necessary.
